The importance of Status Update nofifications

I was on the Marina a few days ago when a client commented that he was really happy with NoPowerTXT but hadn’t received a Status Update notification for a couple of weeks.  Naturally this caused the alarm bells to go off in my head. So we immediately went to the phone, only to find out that his 12-month prepaid SIM had been incorrectly activated as a 3-month plan and as a result it has expired.  I contacted the Telco and established a new 12-month plan for him.  The lesson here is to not only have the pre-paid SIM expiry reminder set, but to also have a regular Status Update notification set.  It is great for your peace of mind but also lets you know that your SIM card is active and hence any important alert messages will be sent to you.
